Can you find all 35 coverage cats scattered across our product and site?

NOTE: we’ve redacted some assets and styling bits for the prompts but leave enough where you should be able to approach it in a similar fashion to solve your own problems.

Sometimes you hold a tool and you just know how it works. niji・journey has that feel for creating illustrations in a band of visual language associated with comics and animation. For someone who struggles with the patience for developing skill in art, being able to immediately leverage it into something that feels useful– a set of illustrations for our site and product– felt great compared to over 90% of business software experiences.

niji・journey is an art generator built by Spellbrush a co-created amidst significant controversy about a set of these models. The promise is that If you can express your brand needs– with a little bit of linguistic elbow grease– you can create outputs that illustrate your product goals or brand vibes. What would previously take a product leader and a dedicated designer at least a few days of iteration can now be accomplished in an afternoon at a similar level of resolution and polish.

Though it came close, the image creation process wasn’t completely seamless: our style leans into a specific style, but no matter what your preferences, you'll have to make minor edits. Some cats emerged with strange features or disconnected tails or strange cat butts (see below) despite prompts written to prevent these issue. niji・journey also struggled with background formats and colors and vacillated between very high and low levels of illustrative detail. These problems came up when it encountered prompts that matched common scenes from its training set. Images that feature office spaces are an intuitive check for this, as there is no shortage of art that documents people at work over desks.

Gripes aside, the experience felt unrivaled, for animation and comic-type designs, compared to other generally-available-minimal-setup tools like DALLE-2

And the same prompt with the style information we used for many of the niijourney images above.

The final maze cat image is created with niji・journey and is live on our blog right now. Below is a sample of how Midjourney handled a similar prompt.

An early prompt generated a strong response that communicated the tool's capacity for style.

It was clear that even if niji・journey wasn’t always on the mark a subscription would be a good investment to help Coverage Cat delight its users. The faster iteration cycles return time that we'll use to talk to customers and improve other parts of the product.

The talented staff at Awesomic created the first version of our logo and illustrations. That first design and color scheme set the tone for the illustrations we now use to make the long process of insurance risk assessment more bearable. Anastasia and Oks', our designers, contribution made niji・journey extra high leverage. Their work distilled our vision for the first Coverage Cat which remains our main logo and favicon image a charming cat that communicates a sense of comfort and security as well as fun and joy. For a future design-focused cycle, we'll re-engage Awesomic to work on top of niji・journey's output and further refine our message.

The takeaway here other than that you should signup to find all 35 cats is that niji・journey can be a powerful tool to iterate on brand vision. Once we found a prompt that generates cats that are upbeat and hangout near illustrative objects niijourney shrank our feedback cycles for initial versions of these design elements that made it well-worth a subscribe your version of the internet cat-people will thank you.
