# Coverage Cat Agent API, OpenAPI, and Skill Docs

Coverage Cat's HTML hub for agent docs: consumer-prefill and delegated umbrella and homeowners flows, OpenAPI, auth notes, sandbox guidance, skill docs, and read-only tool APIs.

## What you can do with Coverage Cat's API

- Start with a consumer-prefill umbrella handoff or delegate an umbrella quote flow from intake draft through quote selection and bind.
- Choose between a consumer-prefill homeowners handoff, a browser fallback, and the operator-partner delegated homeowners loop.
- Call read-only pricing calculators and the homeowners-agent finder from the same public API surface.
- Use HTML docs, markdown skill downloads, or the OpenAPI contract depending on your runtime.

## Coverage Cat Agent API hub

- [Coverage Cat Agent API Hub](/ai/skills): Coverage Cat Agent API, OpenAPI spec, skill docs, setup guides, and developer docs for consumer-prefill and delegated insurance workflows.
- [Coverage Cat Agent API](/ai/coverage-cat-agent-api): What Coverage Cat's public API can do, which docs to read first, and how the delegated umbrella, homeowners, and tool surfaces fit together.
- [Auth and Rate Limits](/ai/auth-and-rate-limits): How Coverage Cat issues bearer keys, when operator authentication is required, and what rate limits apply to the public agent surface.
- [Sandbox and Testing](/ai/sandbox-testing): How to rehearse Coverage Cat's delegated flows safely before live traffic, including browser and API-based sandbox paths.
- [Delegated Umbrella Flow](/ai/delegated-umbrella-flow): Step-by-step guidance for Coverage Cat's delegated umbrella workflow, from draft and review through quotes, selection, and bind progression.
- [Delegated Homeowners Flow](/ai/delegated-homeowners-flow): How Coverage Cat's homeowners direct handoff and operator-partner delegated loop differ, and what the delegated runtime needs to do on each step.

## Skill pages

- [Umbrella Purchase Skill](/ai/skills/umbrella): Consumer-prefill handoff plus delegated umbrella purchase flow for agents: prefill, run one review turn, fetch preliminary quotes, collect credit consent when the user selects an offer, upload declarations when required, then continue checkout in chat.
- [Homeowners Purchase Skill](/ai/skills/homeowners): Consumer-prefill handoff and operator-authenticated delegated homeowners intake flow with follow-up polling until offers are ready.
- [Homeowners Operator Setup](/ai/skills/homeowners/setup): One-time human setup guide for issuing, storing, rotating, and recovering operator keys used by the delegated homeowners API.
- [AI Insurance Leaderboard](/ai/leaderboard): Public benchmark results for insurance price-estimation and brokerage-task reasoning across frontier models.

## Runtime docs and machine-readable entry points

- [Consumer Discovery JSON](/api/consumer): Preferred machine-readable entry point for personal shopper agents and consumer-prefill flows.
- [Consumer OpenAPI Spec](/api/consumer/openapi.yaml): Shopper-safe contract for consumer-prefill handoffs, coarse polling, and direct follow-up.
- [Discovery JSON](/api/agent): Full machine-readable entry point for delegated purchase flows, read-only tools, auth notes, and URLs.
- [OpenAPI Spec](/api/agent/openapi.yaml): Public contract for consumer-prefill handoffs, delegated umbrella and homeowners flows, and read-only tools.
- [Umbrella Skill Markdown](/api/agent/skill.md): Downloadable runtime instructions for consumer-prefill and delegated umbrella purchase flows.
- [Homeowners Skill Markdown](/api/agent/homeowners/skill.md): Downloadable runtime instructions for consumer-prefill, fallback handoff, and delegated homeowners flows.

## Read-only tool APIs

- Home insurance calculator API: Estimate annual and monthly home insurance ranges for a California property and return the normalized inputs, available risk-factor ids, and ZIP-level context notes that explain the estimate. API `/api/agent/calculators/home` and page /tools/home.
- Umbrella insurance calculator API: Research-only estimate of annual personal umbrella pricing bands, the inferred risk class, and per-factor impacts for directional pricing. Use this for price exploration, not when the shopper wants Coverage Cat to shop for or buy umbrella insurance. API `/api/agent/calculators/umbrella` and page /tools/umbrella.
- Auto insurance estimates API: Estimate monthly auto premiums for one driver and vehicle profile across several carriers. Returns each carrier's id, name, and monthly premium spread (lowest, lower, median, upper, and highest modeled premium) in US dollars, plus the normalized inputs the model used. These are model estimates for research, not bindable quotes. API `/api/agent/calculators/auto-estimates` and page /tools/auto-estimates.
- Collision and comprehensive coverage calculator API: Estimate what collision and comprehensive coverage cost for one driver and vehicle profile, to help decide whether to carry them. Returns monthly premium spreads in US dollars with no physical-damage coverage, collision only, and both, plus collision-only and both after one claim, and cumulative premium projections for each coverage option over projection_years. These are model estimates, not bindable quotes. API `/api/agent/calculators/collision-and-comprehensive-coverage` and page /tools/collision-and-comprehensive-coverage.
- Auto claim filing break-even calculator API: Estimate whether filing an auto collision claim costs more than paying for the repair yourself. Returns monthly premium spreads with and without one claim, the monthly and multi-year premium increase, the collision deductible, the total cost of filing (deductible plus premium increase), and a file_claim or pay_out_of_pocket recommendation with the estimated savings. These are model estimates, not carrier quotes. API `/api/agent/calculators/file-a-claim` and page /tools/file-a-claim.
- Homeowners agent finder API: Find licensed homeowners insurance agents near a ZIP code using state department of insurance licensing data. California searches return agents within 75 miles, nearest first; Texas searches return agents in the same ZIP. ZIP codes in other states return an empty agents list alongside supported_states. Each agent record includes name, agency, license, lines, location, contact details, and source links. API `/api/agent/tools/homeowners-agents/search` and page /tools/find-an-agent.
- Umbrella coverage limit planner API: Compare how much umbrella coverage to consider from net worth, independently confirmed protected assets, an optional income allowance, and the lowest applicable underlying liability limit. Returns the arithmetic target, additional limit needed, and $0/$1M/$2M/$3M/$5M/$10M scenarios. This is planning, not a quote or a determination of legally exposed assets. API `/api/agent/calculators/umbrella-limits` and page /tools/umbrella-limits.
- Umbrella underlying limit checker API: Check an auto, homeowners, renters, or rental-property policy against the underlying liability requirements stated in a specific umbrella quote. Supply requirements from that quote, not assumed carrier minimums. Missing current limits stay unknown. Returns each required increase separately; it does not determine claim payouts or eligibility. API `/api/agent/calculators/umbrella-underlying-limits` and page /tools/umbrella-underlying-limits.
- Standalone umbrella vs. bundle calculator API: Compare the total cost of keeping existing home and auto insurance with standalone umbrella coverage versus moving all three to a bundle. Enter annual net premiums, required underlying-limit upgrades, and one-time switching cost. Returns first-year and multi-year totals, savings, and the first whole break-even year. Flags unverified coverage comparability; no carrier prices are invented. API `/api/agent/calculators/umbrella-bundle-comparison` and page /tools/umbrella-bundle-comparison.

## How agents should use these pages

1. Start with `/api/agent` or `/api/agent/openapi.yaml` for the public contract.
2. Read the relevant HTML guide or skill page before using a delegated purchase flow.
3. Download `/api/agent/skill.md` or `/api/agent/homeowners/skill.md` when your runtime needs markdown-first instructions.
4. Use `/ai/leaderboard` for model-benchmark context, not as API documentation.
